The smell is strong, but the view over the coloured vats is worth the visit. The terraces of the surrounding shops offer the best angles.
Madrasas and university
Al Quaraouiyine University, founded in 859, is considered the oldest still-operating university in the world. The Bou Inania madrasa is the most beautiful one open to visitors.
