4 Days Tour from Marrakech to the Desert

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Aït Benhaddou – Dades Valley

Departure from Marrakech after breakfast, crossing the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka road. Stops at the most impressive viewpoints to admire the views and take photos.

Visit the Ksar of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the setting for famous international films. Lunch at a local restaurant overlooking this impressive fortified city.

Continue along the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs to the Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel overlooking the gorge.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi

Breakfast at the hotel with stunning views over the valley. Departure for the Todra Gorges, an impressive canyon with vertical walls reaching 300 meters in height.

Time to walk along the river and explore this natural wonder. Lunch at a traditional restaurant before continuing on to Merzouga.

Arrival in the desert in the late afternoon. Camel ride through the dunes of Erg Chebbi to witness an unforgettable sunset in the Sahara. Dinner and overnight stay in a Berber camp under a starry sky.

Day 3: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Camel Ride – Desert Camp

This is the most iconic day of the 4-day Fes to Marrakech tour with desert. After exploring the Merzouga area, the afternoon is dedicated to the long-awaited camel ride through the Erg Chebbi dunes to watch a stunning sunset. The night is spent in a Berber camp under a starry sky, an experience that defines the kasbah route.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani- Dara valley – Agdez – Marrakech

If there is one unmissable sight in the desert, it is the sunrise. After enjoying this moment of tranquility, the tour returns to the camels to reach a hotel where we can shower and have breakfast (depending on the type of camp, breakfast and showers may be before the camel ride).

Passing through the palm grove of Tafilalet and the city of Rissani (where Morocco’s Alawite dynasty comes from), the tour arrives at Alnif, where we take the road that crosses the Anti-Atlas mountain range. Through these extraordinary mountain passes, we will reach Tazarine (an important Berber village), N’koband, and finally the Draa Valley and its impressive palm grove.

After crossing the mountain range via the Tizi n-Tinifift Pass (1,660 meters high), we arrive in Ouarzazate, where we stop for lunch before continuing our journey back to Marrakech, dropping you off at your hotel in the evening.
