ACCOMMODATION IN MOROCCO
In all trips, having quality accommodation is fundamental! After all, it is where you rest, plan your next steps, and prepare for the following day.
Here at Agência Marrocos Tours, we always look for the best accommodation options for you during our tours.
Our itineraries feature three types of accommodation. Check them out:
HOTEL

In locations like Casablanca, accommodation may be in hotels. The hotels chosen by us are very comfortable.
The choice of hotels is made according to availability on the selected dates for the tour. But you can rest assured, as all hotels we select feature great structure, accommodations, and location.
RIADS

Riads are traditional Moroccan houses or palaces with an inner garden or courtyard. They are located in the medinas (historic centers) and are closed constructions facing the outside with a single entrance door flush with the street.
But the surprise comes the moment that door opens. They are a true oasis. Riads are structured around a central courtyard, often featuring fountains and trees, where the rooms open up to.
Many riads were residences in the past and, after renovations, began to be used as tourist accommodation. Other riads were built precisely for this purpose.
As a form of immersion into the Moroccan essence, we recommend this type of accommodation. This is because, by staying in a riad, you will understand the local dynamic, customs, and the real atmosphere of Moroccan culture.
TENTS (DESERT CAMPING)
It might seem strange to stay in a tent… But the tent accommodations here in Morocco are a spectacle!
Especially when you are in the Sahara Desert. It is in a tent that you will stay!
Most tents are located in the middle of an oasis. This helps protect the camp facilities from the wind. Generally, the tents are grouped in a circle.
The walls of the tents are made of fabrics that absorb the sun throughout the day and ensure a warm night amidst the cold that sets in after dark. Yes, believe it, in the desert, the temperature can drop below freezing at night. Most of the time, this fabric is made from goat hair.
Arrival at the tents is done before sunset, riding to the camp on camels. This way, you will have the same experience that the nomads had in the desert. Halfway through the journey, there will be a stop to watch the sunset, as well as to take photos of the landscapes.
The luxury tents have a private bathroom and dinner service delivered to the tent. Meanwhile, the rooms in the traditional standard tents are simple with normal beds and several heavy blankets. Furthermore, the floor is covered with a carpet to maintain thermal insulation. The bathroom is outside the tent.
When night falls at the camp, dinner is served at outdoor tables. The menu generally includes a typical Moroccan dish. Soon after, the guides gather around a bonfire to sing and play Berber instruments. It is a magical night, under the light of all the stars. Just look up at the sky and see it in all its intensity. For those who have never seen shooting stars, this is the time.
The next day, wake up early to see the sunrise over the dunes. It is a spectacle in itself.
The return is made in a 4×4, where you will visit the village of Khamlia with the Gnawa population, who are black people from Sudan who were once enslaved and are now free. You can learn about their typical music and visit an oasis, as well as nomad families, having the experience of exchanging teas and breads for something, exactly as was done in the past.
