As we’ve seen, Morocco’s borders are open! And are you already planning your trip?
Before packing your bags, it’s good to know about the current restrictions in the country. Remember that these restrictions are in place to protect everyone against Covid-19.
Security measures have been adopted by tourism services in Morocco. Check them out:
CAFES AND RESTAURANTS
Cafes and restaurants operate until 11 PM, respecting some sanitary measures.
You must always wear your mask at the entrance and whenever you get up to move around.
At the entrance, your temperature is checked, and you are asked to sanitize your hands. To ensure the safety of all customers, entry and exit routes are separated.
BEACHES, RESORTS, AND WELLNESS CENTERS
Private bathing establishments (Hammam, Gyms, and Indoor Pools) are open. Following the general health protocol, body temperature is checked at the entrance, and hand disinfection is required.
In the case of wellness centers, entry and exit routes are separated. Respect for social distancing is recommended, and mask-wearing is mandatory in common areas.
To fully enjoy these activities, it is advisable to follow all guidelines indicated at the reception of these establishments and consult by phone beforehand. Public beaches are open.
HOTELS AND ACCOMMODATION
Booking is mandatory to fully enjoy your stay in hotels, resorts, or Riads.
To ensure the health and safety of all travelers, the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, Air Transport, and Social Economy grants the “Welcome Safely” certification, which attests to the compliance of these tourist accommodation establishments with Covid-19 control protocols in Morocco.
In hotels, resorts, or Riads, mask-wearing is mandatory in reception areas, restaurant areas, and any other common room. Body temperature is checked at the entrance, and hand disinfection is required. Respect for social distancing measures and hygiene rules is also necessary.
MUSEUMS AND CULTURAL SITES
Museums and cultural sites are currently open. Upon arrival, your temperature will be checked, followed by hand disinfection.
As entry and exit routes are separated, a safe distance must be respected in case of waiting. Inside these establishments, it would be preferable to avoid touching objects and to follow the indicated and signposted routes. Mask-wearing is mandatory.
CINEMAS AND THEATERS
Cinemas and theaters are open.
All measures will be taken to protect your health and safety: a marked and indicated route, temperature reading at the entrance, hand disinfection, and numbered and separated seats to maintain a safe distance.
It is emphasized that mask-wearing is mandatory to attend shows in cinemas and theaters.
NATURAL PARKS, GREEN SPACES, AND PLAYGROUNDS
In public playgrounds, green spaces, and natural parks, regular hand disinfection is recommended. Mask-wearing is mandatory.
A physical distance of at least one meter is recommended. In private areas, temperature reading and hand disinfection are mandatory at the entrance, in addition to mask-wearing.
SHOPS AND COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES
In shops, boutiques, shopping centers, and local stores, mask-wearing is mandatory to protect yourself and others. It is noted that at the entrance of each store, disinfectants are made available to customers, as well as thermal scanners for body temperature verification. As the number of customers is limited in these areas, it is mandatory to respect a safe distance in queues.
TOURIST GUIDES
Tourist guides will receive a hygiene kit and disinfected audio equipment before and after each visit.
Mask-wearing is mandatory throughout the visit. It is mandatory to respect social distancing rules and to disinfect hands after each contact.
