How to Travel to Morocco?
Flights from Brazil to Morocco
Brazilians (and Portuguese) do not need a visa to enter Morocco. Departing from Brazil, you’ll need to take flights with European airlines, such as TAP, Iberia, KLM, or Air France, for example. In this case, the journey will involve a layover in one of the European capitals.
The cost of the trip can range from 2,000 to 3,000 BRL, depending on the season. You can search for the best flight options among all airlines here.
Flights from Europe to Morocco
For those already in Europe, in addition to traditional airlines, several low-cost companies like Ryanair, Easyjet, Transavia, and Vueling offer flights to Morocco.
Airports that receive international flights include Casablanca, Marrakech, Fes, Tangier, Rabat, and Agadir. Furthermore, some smaller airports receive flights from France and Spain, such as Ouarzazate, Essaouira, and Tetouan.
My round-trip flight with Ryanair, departing from Porto, Portugal, cost 80 euros.
Ferry from Spain to Morocco
It’s also feasible to travel to Morocco by boat, crossing the Strait of Gibraltar. There are five ferry ports in Spain (Tarifa, Algeciras, Gibraltar, Barcelona, and Malaga) and four on the Moroccan side (Tangier, Tanger Med, Ceuta, and Melilla).
The most recommended route is from Tarifa to Tangier, as there are more daily trips, and you arrive directly at your desired destination. However, the trip to Tanger Med is more economical. Both journeys take about 1 hour. The first costs from €40, while the second starts at €35. If you prefer to take a car, the ticket price increases to around 200 euros.
The main companies operating the ferries that you can research are: FRS, Balearia, Transmediterranea, Intershipping, and AML.
Travel Insurance for Morocco
We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance before embarking on your trip to Morocco. Good insurance not only covers expenses in high-quality hospitals during your stay in the country but also offers support in difficult situations, such as lost luggage, theft, trip cancellations, or flight delays.
Through our partner, Seguros Promo, you can compare different insurance providers and choose the option that offers the best cost-benefit for your needs. And the best part? You can even secure a discount of up to 25% on your insurance.
Private Driver Transport
It is possible to hire Agencia Marrocos Tours to arrange transportation within the country. The cost of a good car with a driver can vary slightly depending on where you book and your negotiation skills. In this case, I recommend booking online, where you can read reviews about the driver or company. Our travel agency in Morocco can organize tours exactly as you wish.
